Calling all children's media professionals to participate in a survey about Character Mediated Learning

The survey is for creators of inspiring characters from picture books, YouTube series, television series, films, games, edtech apps, AI tools, and anything in between - folks who create content for children, and serve a specific learning goal.

This year I'm mentoring a group of creatives from Children's Media Association developing character IPs informed by visual design, media psychology, child development, learning sciences, and human-computer interaction.

At the end of the mentorship, I would love to publish a public report about Character Mediated Learning at Oki Pie Lab based on:

  • insights generated by our group

  • insights offered by the broader children's media community through this survey

  • prior literature on characters

  • Oki Pie Lab’s experience of facilitating and researching character-themed art workshops
